Personality
All dogs have different personalities. Your hope may be to get one that sits on your lap and never barks. Or you may want a very active puppy to play ball with. This we will not guarantee. We will do our very best to match a dog to you, but even the best efforts can fail. We strive to place dogs in permanent homes where they are loved unconditionally even when they aren’t quite what was expected.
Socialization
We provide the same socialization to all of our dogs. They are around my children almost daily from the minute they are born. Even with the same socialization from one puppy to the next, you may have a very shy puppy and its littermate may very outgoing. They very much get their traits from their parents. Puppies we have had not only resemble but have the same attributes or same flaws as their parents. We are not saying that our socialization does not shape them into what they become, but a great deal if bred into them.
People need to realize that your dog may or may not like to be around young kids or men or strangers. Should you abandon the dog? Absolutely not. When company comes over, my dogs get put in their crates or they go outside. This way my dogs avoid any nervousness they may feel. It is their house, not the company. If my dog doesn’t like someone is that a big deal. No! He has his own personality and I don’t have him to keep my company happy. If you are looking for a dog to please people who visit then you probably should look for another breeder.
